Terms of Use

These terms cover the Dictus app, the paid Dictus Pro offerings, and the getdictus.com website.
By downloading, installing, or using Dictus, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
Acceptance of Terms
These terms form an agreement between you and PIVI Solutions, the publisher of Dictus. They apply to your use of the Dictus app and related services. We may update them; continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance.
Service Description
Dictus provides voice dictation with local transcription on iPhone and computers. Desktop is free on macOS, Windows and Linux. On iOS, the dictation keyboard works in apps that support third-party keyboards, and core dictation stays free. Dictus Pro is a planned iOS offering; Pro purchases are not available yet. Hardware and software requirements depend on the feature. Downloads, updates and payments require the network.
License and Acceptable Use
Dictus is granted to you under a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for use consistent with its intended purpose. The app’s code is open source and governed by its public license available on GitHub. You agree not to use the app for any unlawful purpose or in a way that infringes the rights of others.
Dictus Pro Subscription
When purchases launch, Dictus Pro will be offered as an auto-renewable subscription, on a monthly (€4.99) or yearly (€39.99) plan. These are France/EUR reference prices for the planned offering; the applicable price will be confirmed in the app and App Store for your country. A one-time purchase is also planned, described in the next section. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase. The subscription automatically renews for the same period unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal at any time in your Apple ID account settings after purchase. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; the period already paid for is not refunded.
Free Trial
Only the yearly Dictus Pro subscription may include a 7-day free trial, subject to eligibility confirmed by Apple. After the trial, it will be billed at €39.99 per year with automatic renewal. Without eligibility, the yearly payment will be due at purchase. Monthly and one-time purchases have no trial. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the paid subscription starts automatically and your Apple ID account is charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a paid subscription.
Dictus Pro one-time purchase
When purchases launch, Dictus Pro will also be offered as a single one-time purchase. It is not a subscription: it does not renew, it is never charged again, and it carries no free trial. The applicable price is the one shown in the App Store at the time of purchase. The purchase is tied to your Apple ID account and can be restored across your devices using the restore purchases function. The lifetime purchase covers every current and future Pro feature that runs on your device or on a server you provide. Any feature relying on Dictus infrastructure is a separate offering.
Payments and Refunds
All payments, subscriptions, and one-time purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Refund requests are subject to Apple’s App Store terms and handled directly by Apple; PIVI Solutions has no access to your payment information and cannot process refunds directly.
Personal Data
Audio transcription runs on your device. On Desktop, optional post-processing may send text to a provider you choose. Your use of the app is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual Property
The “Dictus” name, logo, and brand elements belong to PIVI Solutions. The app’s source code is released as open source under its respective license; rights to the code are governed by that license. No trademark rights are granted beyond what the law permits.
No Warranty
Dictus is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that transcription will be error-free or that the app will operate without interruption. Speech-recognition accuracy depends on many factors, including your device and usage conditions.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, PIVI Solutions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, Dictus. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in that case, they apply to the extent permitted by law.
Termination
You may stop using Dictus and uninstall the app at any time. We may suspend or discontinue access to the service or to certain features in the event of a breach of these terms or for technical or legal reasons.
Changes to These Terms
We may modify these terms. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the app after posting constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to the protective provisions applicable to consumers in their country of residence.
